Final Exam

For your final exam, you should select a new piece to perform from any of the following Forensics events:

  • Solo Acting
  • Storytelling
  • Prose
  • Poetry
  • Oratory
  • Mime (1 person)
  • HI/DI
Your rubric will be based off of the ACTAA ballots for the aforementioned events.  You can get those from me.

In addition to your performance, you also have an additional analysis due for each of the pieces, which will be worth 55 points.  Here is a rubric.  This analysis is due 24 hours prior to your performance.
  • Solo Acting - Script score
  • Storytelling - Script score
  • Prose - Script score
  • Poetry - Script score
  • Oratory - Script (use debate rubric off of their blog)
  • Mime (1 person) - Plot summary with music breakdown
  • HI/DI - Script score
For the script score, please use the directions from last semester.  You should insert pauses, changes in inflection or pace, gestures, eye contact, etc.  You can do this with a pen or you can do this digitally using Microsoft Word > Review.

Script Scoring

Scoring is the process of adding symbols to a script to assist the performer with the verbal and nonverbal aspects of his/her piece.  For this assessment, students will score their poetry/prose scripts.  Please follow the directions below for symbols to use.  Also, students should insert directions for gestures in their scripts.
